Until now all TVSS Devices basically worked the same way. They diverted over voltages to ground until the were destroyed or the connected fuses opened preventing explosions, fire and flying debris. The remaining surge voltages would then be redirected back to the line and connected equipment.
The unique fuse-less design of the Vor-Capp module and its capability to withstand short-circuit currents allow direct installation on the bus bars, precluding the need to install additional fuses or interconnection wires,
New technology eliminates direct fusing. The VOR-CAP devices are U.L. Approved at U.L’s maximum testing capacity (200,000Amps). They can be installed directly to the buss bar with out fusing and will fail shorted, tripping the main breaker, protecting connected equipment. These TVSS components can be configured in any way to address your specific application.
Independent test data confirms that a 40mm Vor-Cap-Caps module can withstand 100 kA strikes with 0% change in clamping voltage. The 80mm Vortexx module can withstand strikes up to 200 kA thus, safeguarding critical electronic infrastructure against any potential threat.
